Azure Cloud Data Engineer

As a seasoned Azure cloud data engineer at UBS, your role will involve developing curated data pipelines to load, transform, and egress data on the cloud. You will also be responsible for helping to build state-of-the-art solutions supporting M&S surveillance models and alert generation using technologies like Scala, Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Airflow. Your key responsibilities include: - Developing curated data pipelines for data loading, transformation, and egress on the cloud. - Building solutions for M&S surveillance models and alert generation using Scala, Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Airflow. - Demonstrating superior analytical and problem-solving skills. - Applying various design patterns knowledge. - Collaborating closely with development, testing, and implementation teams for regulatory and business improvement programs. To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science. - 13+ years of hands-on design and development experience in technologies such as Scala, Azure Data Lake, Apache Spark, Airflow, Oracle/Postgres. - Strong coding skills in Scala and Spark with an understanding of ETL paradigms. - Proficiency in Agile, Test Driven Development, and DevOps practices. - Experience in application development using various design patterns. - Familiarity with MS Azure is an added advantage. - Experience in solution design from scratch. - Global team collaboration experience. - Python coding skills are an added advantage. - Strong communication skills for interactions with senior management and teams. - Background in IB or Finance domain with a good understanding of finance principles is advantageous. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Collaborative approach towards problem solving and diversity awareness.
