Azure Cloud Data Engineer

As a seasoned Azure cloud data engineer in the Compliance IT space at UBS, your responsibilities will include: - Developing curated data pipelines to load, transform, and egress data on the cloud. - Building state-of-the-art solutions supporting M&S surveillance models and alert generation using technologies like Scala, Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Airflow. - Demonstrating superior analytical and problem-solving skills. - Applying design skills and knowledge of various design patterns. - Collaborating closely with other development, testing, and implementation teams to roll out regulatory and business improvement programs. Your expertise should cover the following qualifications: - Degree level education, preferably in Computer Science (Bachelor or Masters degree). - 13+ years of hands-on design and development experience in relevant technology areas such as Scala, Azure Data Lake, Apache Spark, Airflow, Oracle/Postgres, etc. - Strong coding skills in Scala, Spark (must have) with an understanding of ETL paradigms. - Proficiency in Agile, Test Driven Development, and DevOps practices. - Experience in developing applications using various design patterns. - Working knowledge of MS Azure (added advantage). - Designing solutions from scratch. - Working experience with global teams. - Coding skills in Python is an added advantage. - Strong communication skills for engaging with senior management and teams. - Background in IB or Finance domain with a good understanding of finance principles (added advantage). - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Collaborative approach towards problem-solving, working closely with colleagues in the global team and being sensitive towards diversity.
