We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Fraud Risk
FRM application implementation and API integration
successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding our bank and its customers from
evolving fraud threats by leading the end-to-end implementation and enhancement of cutting
edge fraud detection and prevention systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in
integrating complex financial systems and a proven track record of managing significant FRM
projects.
Key Responsibilities:
FRM Application Implementation & Management:
- Lead the planning, design, development, testing, and deployment of new Fraud Risk Management applications and modules, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of FRM system enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and stability.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders (Risk, Operations, Product, Compliance) to gather detailed requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure solutions meet their needs.
- Manage vendor relationships for FRM solutions, including evaluation, selection, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for FRM systems, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies (AI/ML, behavioral analytics).
API Integration & Architecture:
- Spearhead the design, development, and implementation of robust and secure API integrations between FRM systems and various internal/external banking platforms (e.g., core banking, payment gateways, digital channels, identity verification services).
- Define API standards, best practices, and governance frameworks for real-time fraud detection and prevention data exchange.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in troubleshooting complex integration issues, ensuring seamless data flow and minimal latency.
- Work closely with development teams (internal and vendor) to ensure API contracts, documentation, and implementation adhere to architectural guidelines and security protocols.
Fraud Strategy & Operations Support:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of fraud risk strategies by providing technical insights into system capabilities and limitations.
- Support fraud operations teams by ensuring FRM systems effectively generate accurate alerts, facilitate investigations, and support case management workflows.
- Monitor system performance and fraud detection effectiveness, recommending and implementing tuning and optimization strategies.
- Ensure all FRM implementations comply with local (e.g., RBI) and international regulatory guidelines, data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR), and internal bank policies.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, QA, and operations, to deliver successful FRM projects.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for FRM technology, providing guidance to senior management and other departments.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and project progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 9+ years of progressive experience in software development, system implementation, and API integration within the Banking and Financial Services domain.
- Demonstrable deep experience in the implementation and management of Fraud Risk Management (FRM) applications/platforms (e.g., NICE Actimize, SAS Fraud Management, Feedzai, Verafin, or similar enterprise-grade solutions).
- Proven hands-on experience with designing, developing, and integrating RESTful and SOAP APIs for mission-critical financial systems.
- Strong understanding of banking processes, payment systems, and typical fraud typologies (e.g., electronic fraud, card fraud, account takeover, loan fraud).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and full SDLC.
- Prior experience in a client-facing or leadership role is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar, used in enterprise-level financial applications.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), with ability to write complex queries.
- Experience with microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
- Exposure to data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for monitoring and reporting.
