AVP- Compliance - Surveillance

As a core member of the Compliance Surveillance function within Group Compliance at FAB, your role will be crucial in supporting the Head of Surveillance. Your key responsibilities will include: - Ensuring that day-to-day surveillance activities are executed per agreed procedures - Progressing the enhancement of surveillance controls and processes - Upholding fair and orderly financial markets and fulfilling regulatory requirements - Acting as an independent partner to the First Line of Defence to endorse a solid culture of compliance In order to contribute strategically, you are expected to have entrepreneurial flair to take surveillance to a global best practice level. You will be responsible for executing both trade and communication surveillance using tools developed by vendors such as Bloomberg and TradingHub, along with internal or manual controls where necessary. Your day-to-day activities will involve ongoing governance and oversight of surveillance controls, ensuring they remain fit for purpose, and building and maintaining robust relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for producing management information and reports advising key stakeholders of surveillance activities. To excel in this role, you are required to have the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher educational certificate in a related field, including but not limited to banking, finance, compliance, monitoring, auditing - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Compliance Surveillance role - Excellent understanding of market abuse risks and international regulations - Good understanding of automated surveillance tools and platforms - Understanding of traded products and markets (an advantage) - Excellent analytical skills and the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning - Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to senior stakeholders - Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages may be beneficial - Comfortable and competent to work without direct supervision Join FAB, the UAE's largest bank, and contribute to upholding compliance and surveillance standards that meet global best practices.
