AVP- Compliance - Surveillance

Job Description As a core member of the Compliance Surveillance function within Group Compliance at FAB, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head of Surveillance. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the execution of day-to-day surveillance activities in accordance with agreed procedures. Additionally, you will contribute to enhancing surveillance controls and processes, upholding fair and orderly financial markets, fulfilling regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of compliance within the organization. You will be expected to bring entrepreneurial flair to the role, elevating surveillance practices to a global best practice level as part of FAB's strategic goals. Utilizing tools such as Bloomberg and TradingHub, you will conduct both trade and communication surveillance, complemented by internal or manual controls where necessary. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing surveillance controls, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and generating management information and reports to keep stakeholders informed of surveillance activities. Your role will also involve reviewing and updating procedural documentation, as well as calibrating alerts and other automated oversight mechanisms for optimization. A Bachelor's degree or higher educational certificate in a relevant field such as banking, finance, compliance, monitoring, or auditing is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Compliance Surveillance role. To excel in this role, you must possess a deep understanding of market abuse risks and international regulations, proficiency in automated surveillance tools and platforms, and familiarity with traded products and markets. Strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and fluency in English are essential. Proficiency in other languages may be advantageous, and you should be comfortable working independently without direct supervision.
