Automation Test Engineer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a self-driven QA Automation Engineer to be the first automation hire in our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the popular automation tools, such as Selenium. This is a key role where you will have the ownership to define, design, and build the test automation framework from scratch. You'll work closely with developers and QA team members to improve product quality, coverage, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium.
• Automate regression and functional test cases for web applications.
• Identify automation opportunities in the QA process and implement best practices.
• Work closely with developers to ensure code is testable and meets quality standards.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab).
• Create detailed test reports and logs for every automation run.
• Own and manage the test automation roadmap independently with minimal guidance.
• Collaborate with manual QA engineers, product owners, and developers to identify test requirements.
• Proactively debug issues and provide detailed bug reports.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in QA Automation.
• Strong coding/scripting skills in JavaScript/Java/Python.
• Proficient in building test frameworks using Selenium.
• Experience with Web UI, API automation, and test strategy creation.
• Solid knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Experience integrating tests with CI/CD tools like Gitlab, etc.
• Strong understanding of test design principles (modularization, reusability).
• Familiarity with tools like Postman, Jira, or other test reporting utilities.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
