Automation Quality Engineer

The shared passion for languages and new technologies unites the team, offering you the opportunity to actively contribute to the rapidly growing company. **Role Overview:** As an Automation Quality Engineer at Learnship, you will play a crucial role in the QA team. Your primary focus will be on ensuring software quality through a combination of automated and manual testing, with a strong emphasis on automation-first approach to accelerate time-to-market and reduce manual effort. Collaborating with developers, product managers, and stakeholders, you will take ownership of testing and contribute ideas to maintain product quality and a seamless user experience. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain reliable and scalable automated test suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines. - Implement shift-left testing strategies to detect issues early. - Drive test automation best practices, optimizing test coverage and feedback loops. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and devise meaningful test strategies. - Conduct various testing types including functional, regression, integration, API, end-to-end, and database testing. - Define and maintain test cases/scenarios that are environment-independent for local and production-level testing. - Contribute to root cause analysis and actively work on preventing bugs rather than just identifying them. - Take ownership of QA processes, promoting automation and reducing manual intervention. **Qualification Required:** - 5+ years of hands-on experience in automated and manual testing, preferably in Agile/Scrum environments. - Proficiency in JavaScript or Java for writing automated tests. - Strong experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks using Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium. - Expertise in API testing and automation using tools like Karate, REST-assured, or Postman. - In-depth understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and execution best practices. - Proven ability to write clear, maintainable, and reusable test cases and scenarios. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions. - Experience with database validation and SQL for backend testing. - Proficient in using test management tools such as Zephyr and bug tracking tools like Jira. - Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber is a plus. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective resolutions. - Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written). - A continuous learner with enthusiasm for exploring new tools, technologies, and testing practices. - Brings fresh ideas to testing and automation and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. *Note: Nice to Have qualifications include experience or knowledge of AWS, Helm, Kubernetes, Docker, accessibility testing, performance testing tools, and observability and monitoring tools.*,
