Automation QA Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in developing and executing automated test scripts for both UI and API applications, leveraging a modern technology stack that includes Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and Jenkins. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products within an Agile/DevOps environment.

Key Responsibilities-

Design and Development:

Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts for web applications using Selenium WebDriver with Java.

Build and enhance a Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test framework using Cucumber and Gherkin syntax.

Develop and execute automated API tests using frameworks like REST Assured to validate the accuracy and performance of web services.

Test Execution and Analysis:

Integrate automation test suites into a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using Jenkins.

Trigger and monitor automated test runs on Jenkins and analyze the results to identify and report defects.

Execute functional, regression, and cross-browser tests across multiple platforms to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Collaboration and Process Improvement:

Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and manual testers to define clear acceptance criteria and testing requirements. Participate in all Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Continuously improve the automation test framework and processes, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies.

Defect Management and Reporting:

Use bug-tracking tools, such as Jira, to log, track, and manage software defects through to resolution.

Generate and maintain clear, concise, and detailed reports on test execution status, defects, and quality metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience as an Automation QA Engineer or SDET.
• Proficiency in Java programming and OOPs concepts.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and API automation frameworks like REST Assured.
• Experience with CI/CD and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestNG, JUnit), build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), and Git.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
• Experience with Docker.
• Software testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
