Job Description

Position Title: Automation Engineer Connected Factory Position Summary: Pentair is currently seeking an Automation Engineer to work for Connected Factory Solution with Public/Private Cloud. This individual must be well-versed in the latest technologies in IoT 4.0 and digital space. This role is responsible for end-to-end design provisioning and commissioning. Job Summary: The Automation Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems, controls, and instrumentation for various industrial processes. This position requires expertise in electrical engineering, automation technologies, a deep understanding of MES systems, ERP, SCADA softwares and control systems like PLC, HMI, VFD, CNC, IM,VMC etc. Key Responsibilities: Automation System Design: Design, develop, and implement electrical automation systems and controls for industrial processes, machinery, and manufacturing equipment. PLC Programming: Develop and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs to automate and control processes efficiently. Troubleshoot PLC-related issues. HMI (Human-Machine Interface) Development: Design and create user-friendly HMI interfaces for operators to monitor and control automation systems. Sensor Integration: Select, install, and calibrate various sensors, transducers, and instruments to gather data and provide feedback for control systems. Electrical Panel Design: Design and oversee the construction of electrical control panels, ensuring they comply with safety and regulatory standards. Networking and Communication: Establish communication protocols between different devices, controllers, and systems, including Routing, NAT, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, OPC, RS-232, RS-485 and Profinet. IT/OT Connectivity: Ignition Edge gateway, Ignition Cloud Edition, KepServer and Edge devices. Testing and Commissioning: Conduct testing and commissioning of automation systems(FAT & SAT), ensuring they operate efficiently and meet performance specifications. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system manuals. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation-related issues, both in the design phase and during system operation. Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance and recommend system upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency. Enterprise : Experience on MES and ERP (Sepasoft,SAP,etc.) systems. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all automation systems adhere to safety regulations and industry standards. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate automation solutions into larger projects. Qualifications: Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in electrical automation system design and implementation. Professional certifications related to automation (e.g., ISA Certified Automation Professional). Experience: Must be have experience in Ignition and Sepasoft SCADA. Experience with PLC Programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, ABB,RS-Logic 500, RS-Logic 5000, TIA Portal, Automation Builder) Experience with SCADA software (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems (Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalkView, Proficy historian) Experience with Injection moulding, motion control systems and robotics (Roboshot Link-i). Experience in HMI programming tools and software (e.g., Siemens , Allen-Bradley, ABB). Experience in SCADA programming (e.g.,Ignition, WinCC, RSView, Proficy historian) Experience in Machine Connectivity( Fanuc , Siemens, ABB, Robots, CNC and IM machines). Strong understanding of ISA-95 model, electrical and control system design principles. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of regulatory & safety standards and regulations (e.g., UL, CE, NFPA 70E, UL-508). Experience with industrial networking and communication protocols with IT/OT connectivity. Experience with electrical switchgear and control instruments. Exposure on Electrical Panel Design: Design and develop electrical panel components and select the right switchgears, power supplies, and control systems, adhering to industry standards and best practices. Knowledge of advanced control algorithms and machine learning for automation. Knowledge of Project management skills.
