Role Overview

The AutoCAD Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing accurate, coordinated, and timely 2D CAD drawings to support design, execution, and handover of projects. The role involves close coordination with project engineers, design leads, and site teams to translate engineering intent into clear, constructible drawings.

Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting & Drawing Preparation

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, layouts, schematics, and sections using AutoCAD.
• Develop drawings for systems such as BMS, ELV, CCTV, FAS, PAS, ICT, Electrical and MEP coordination (as applicable).
• Convert concept/design inputs into execution-ready drawings.
• Update drawings based on site feedback, RFIs, and design changes.

Coordination & Revisions

• Coordinate with project engineers and site teams to ensure drawings reflect actual site conditions.
• Incorporate consultant / client comments and issue revised drawings as required.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and submission logs.

As-Built & Documentation Support

• Prepare as-built drawings based on final site installations.
• Assist in compilation of drawing sets for handover and O&M manuals.
• Ensure drawings follow company CAD standards, layering, naming conventions, and scales.

Quality & Timelines

• Ensure drawings are accurate, readable, and compliant with project specifications.
• Meet drawing delivery timelines to support site execution milestones.
• Perform self-checks to minimize errors and rework.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI / Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or relevant technical discipline.
• 2–6 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draughtsman in construction / MEP / ELV / BMS projects.
• Hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); basic exposure to Revit / BIM is an added advantage.

• Strong command over AutoCAD drafting tools and shortcuts
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of construction and site practices
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good coordination and communication skills
• Working knowledge of MS Excel / Word for documentation support
