As part of the team, your role will involve: - Functions in various roles on audit engagements, which may include leading audits, staffing audits, and providing consulting or oversight functions as per team requirements - Staying current on regulatory rules and changes within the industry - Managing and performing special projects as assigned - Participating in meetings with business units to discuss audit results - Communicating with partners at all levels, developing and presenting recommendations on operations and controls for the business unit - Utilizing an understanding of various Corporate units to ensure proper audit controls are in place - Evaluating corporate management, business processes, business controls, and operating practices during audits and consulting/monitoring engagements - Applying analytical skills to review information and identify potential control weaknesses - Developing a thorough understanding of the Northern Trust Audit Methodology and adhering to all applicable Department Standards - Completing and compiling a high-quality summary of findings and recommendations for review in a concise and professional manner You should have knowledge of auditing in the financial services industry, basic accounting principles, and related work experience. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA, along with demonstrated technical abilities in select areas, are preferred. Analytical and organizational skills are necessary to conduct audits, along with strong report writing and workpaper documentation skills. You are required to have 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, a College or University degree, and auditing and/or systems experience in a financial institution or similar public accounting experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
