Role & responsibilities Part Inspection: Perform detailed inspections of machine shop parts and other departmental components to ensure conformance to design specifications and quality standards. Conduct inspections of chassis and sub-assemblies from the BIW (Body in White) shop. Metrology Equipment Handling: Hands-on experience with advanced measurement tools, including CMM (Mitutoyo), Faro Arm CMM, Roundness Tester (Mitutoyo), Counter Machine, Profile Projector, and Roughness Tester. Programmed and operated machines such as Faro Arm 3.7m (Cam2Measure10), Accurate (VDMIS), and Mitutoyo (MCOSMOS) to achieve precise measurements for quality control. Calibration & Equipment Management: Oversee calibration activities for BIW shop fixtures and ensure they align with the planned specifications. Regularly review the status of calibration for QA equipment and gauges, ensuring that calibration activities are carried out by identified third-party agencies. Sample Inspection for NPD Sample: New Product Development (NPD) by conducting sample part layout inspections and performing line trials for new parts based on updated vehicle designs. Monitor the monthly PIST (Percentage Inspection Satisfying Tolerance) report for machine shop components and develop action plans for parts that are out of tolerance. Quality Assurance Tools & Techniques: Apply Quality Control Methodologies such as 7 QC tools, 5S, GD&T, Poke-Yoke, Kaizen, Root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques to enhance product quality and production efficiency Preferred candidate profile Experience in Fixed CMMs, Faro CMM, Hardness Tester, Roundness tester, Contour & surface testers. Track and enforce Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations for producers and manufacturers. Ensure vehicles at end-of-life are handed over to authorized vehicle scrapping facilities as per Rule 4 and 5. Stakeholder Coordination : Liaise with vehicle owners (registered owners, bulk users) to ensure timely submission and disposal of ELVs. Data Reporting & Documentation : Maintain records of vehicles scrapped, recycled, or stored as required under Rule 6.
