About the job: Key responsibilities: 1. Designing, developing, and implementing new WordPress-based websites, themes, and plugins. 2. Customizing and extending existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements. 3. Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the WordPress CMS. 4. Conducting website performance tests, troubleshooting, and debugging issues across various browsers and devices. 5. Developing responsive designs and ensuring a seamless user experience across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. 6. Managing website back-ends, including database and server integration. 7. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and other developers, to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. 8. Staying up-to-date with emerging web technologies, WordPress updates, security best practices, and industry trends. 10. Optimizing websites for speed, scalability, and search engine optimization (SEO). 11. Deploying to cloud such as AWS and Providing technical support and maintenance for existing WordPress websites. 12. Integrating third-party APIs and services as needed. 13. Participating in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency. Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer. 2. Strong proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (and popular libraries like jQuery). 3. Solid understanding of PHP back-end development and WordPress architecture (hooks, actions, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, WordPress REST API). 4. Experience with MySQL database management and writing optimized SQL queries. 5. Proficiency in building and customizing WordPress themes (from scratch or using frameworks like Genesis, Underscores) and plugins. 6. Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles. 7. Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git. 8. Knowledge of website performance optimization techniques and security best practices. 9. Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring development work aligns with SEO best practices. 10. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. 11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 12. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 13. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
