About the Organization

Swaniti Initiative is a social enterprise that is working at the intersection of climate, governance and last mile delivery. We believe that while the willingness and resources exist, there are fundamental gaps in the execution within communities that is the biggest crisis in the climate movement. Accordingly, Swaniti works with subnational governments to conduct microplanning exercises with consultations with community and key stakeholders to understand the pathways forward, provide technical assistance to subnational governments to provide support in program implementation and support in monitoring and delivery of programs.

Swaniti has been working across multiple geographies in the global south to unlock capital. Our three core metrics include unlocking public capital, ensuring last mile communities are directly benefitted and creating systemic changes in the public service systems. While we are continuing to focus on impact, it is critical to have a lead who has a deep understanding about monitoring, evaluation and learning. Our intention is to create an institutional capabilities to measure and document the scale of our impact and look at how learning can be replicated across the institution.

Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile Generalist with strong writing skills and a solid background in research, climate and sustainability, environmental issues, and governance. The ideal candidate should be familiar with environmental policies, climate change mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.

The role offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities, including research and report writing with focus on sustainability and environmental governance in Andhra Pradesh.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Develop high-quality research documents, along with need assessment, situation analysis, data analysis, brainstorming with relevant stakeholders.

2. Coordinate, manage, and draft comprehensive research paper on community readiness.

3. Take innovative and research driven perspective on framing recommendations and policy insights for subnational stakeholders.

4. Work with organizational leadership with the state administration to operationalize the feedback that is being collected within communities to promote sustainable practices and environmental governance.

5. Organize and execute events, seminars, and roundtable discussions etc. and provide any additional support to build out capabilities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Sustainability, Climate Studies, Governance, or a related field.

At least 1 years of professional experience in research, climate change, environmental governance, or sustainability, preferably in Andhra Pradesh or similar regions.

Proven experience in writing high-quality reports, research papers, policy briefs, and other professional documents.

Familiarity with environmental policies, climate change mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.

Strong command of both Telugu and English is necessary for this role.
