Associate Liveable Places (Highway Design)

Role Overview: You will be joining the Livable Places team at WSP, a global engineering and technical consultancy firm, where you will play a crucial role in developing, designing, and delivering various transport schemes. These schemes encompass walking and cycling infrastructure, road safety initiatives, highway projects, and parking solutions. Your projects will involve all stages from initial development to final implementation. Key Responsibilities: - Designing transport infrastructure including low to medium cost highway schemes - Creating public realm designs for footways, cycleways, and pedestrian/cycle crossings - Developing bus corridors, park and ride schemes, and junction designs - Designing road signs, markings, and parking strategies - Conducting technical reports for scheme appraisals and vehicle swept path analysis - Managing projects by maintaining design decision registers and design risk registers Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus on Highways/Traffic Engineering - Minimum of 6 years of experience in Highways/Transportation field - Membership or working towards membership with an associated Professional body - At least 2 years of experience working on UK projects and a minimum of 4 years of international project experience including UK projects Additional Details: You will collaborate with Senior, Principal, and Associate Engineers to deliver project outputs to meet the high standards set by WSP and its clients. Your responsibilities will involve independently carrying out engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to technical design standards, conducting project checks and reviews, and managing project constraints such as time, budget, and resources. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to train junior colleagues on active travel schemes, highway design concepts, and software tools like Civil 3D. Clear communication with colleagues in India and the UK, line management experience, and proficiency in software tools like Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D are essential for this role.,
