Associate Fixture and Work Station Designing

As a Fixture Design Engineer at RMCL-FAC in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, you will be responsible for designing and developing welding fixtures, assembly jigs, checking gauges, ergonomic workstations, and material handling tools using SolidWorks. Your primary duties will include creating 3D CAD models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs in compliance with industry and company standards. Additionally, you will conduct design validation, DFMEA, and feasibility studies to ensure manufacturability and performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Production, Quality, and Maintenance for fixture implementation and feedback will be a key aspect of your role. You will also be tasked with modifying existing tooling and fixtures based on process improvements, quality issues, or production changes. Ensuring that all designs meet safety, ergonomic, and quality standards is crucial. Moreover, you will support the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of designed fixtures and workstations on the shop floor, while maintaining a record of all designs, revisions, and technical documentation. Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to lean manufacturing practices will be expected from you. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in fixture design, preferably in welding and assembly applications. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting is essential. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and material selection is required. Familiarity with welding processes such as MIG/TIG/Spot and assembly line operations is preferred. Knowledge of ergonomics and safety standards for workstation design, coupled with good analytical and problem-solving skills, will be beneficial. Effective communication and team collaboration skills are also necessary to excel in this role.,
