Associate Engineer 1

Role Description

This position primarily involves Python automation and GUI development. The ideal candidate will possess robust Python development skills and hands-on experience, and a strong command of Oracle SQL. As part of the responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), undertake debugging tasks, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with an emphasis on quality assurance and operational efficiency.

The candidate will also be responsible for defining software specifications, designing, and architecting solutions, coordinating software testing efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position provides a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to the design and development of application software within a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

Essential:

• Python:

• Code Development:

  Develop efficient Python applications, perform debugging, testing, and optimization to ensure functionality.

• Collaboration:

  Work within a team, effectively communicating technical concepts.

• Oracle SQL:

• Database Management:

  Design, create and manage databases using Oracle SQL, write and optimize complex SQL queries.

• Understanding Architecture:

  Have a strong understanding of database architecture and principles.

• GUI Development

  : Hands-on experience in development of graphical user interface in one or more of the following technologies:
• Bootstrap & HTML, CSS
• Responsive Web Design
• JavaScript
• Microsoft Visual Basic, .NET framework
• Other technologies: SQL operations on a RDBMS, interfacing to the various GUI technologies is required.
• Development Environment: Hands-on experience in developing Python IDEs, Version Control System, Oracle SQL, MySQL or similar would be beneficial.
• Development Model: Must be familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle model and should have working experience in an Agile environment, with diligence in documentation. Must have experience in handling all phases of SDLC starting from Requirements Gathering, all the way to Post-Release Support and Maintenance.
• Should have excellent debugging abilities to work through issues, root cause them and find optimal & suitable remedies.
• Should be able to understand existing code for review and maintenance.
• Crisp & timely communication both within the team and across teams is vital.
• Should be self-driven with minimal intervention from team lead or supervisors.

• Knowledge on AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System
• Knowledge in collaboration tools like Jira & Confluence
• Knowledge in version control tools like Git & Bitbucket
