Assistant Vice President / Vice President - Formulation R&D

Role Overview

TIEFENBACHER Laboratories seeks a visionary and results-driven executive to serve as AVP/Vice President -Research and Development.

This strategic leadership role encompasses end-to-end responsibility for the complete development of a product from the initial idea to a scalable formulation . The AVP/Vice President will drive innovation, ensure scientific excellence, and build high-performing teams through integrity, mentorship and guidance to support the companys growth and global ambitions.

Your Role: Responsibilities and Opportunities for Growth

Strategic Leadership in Innovation

• Define and lead the integrated strategy for Pharmaceutical Product and Analytical Development Teams leading about 100 team members .
• Champion innovation across the entire Tiefenbacher portfolio and take an active role in decisions on new projects.
• Lead technology scouting and adoption of advanced tools and methodologies to enhance development and scientific capabilities

Operational Excellence

• Oversee departmental budgeting, infrastructure upgrades, system enhancements, and documentation processes across all managed functions.
• Ensure seamless technology transfer, robust training programs, and operational excellence throughout the product lifecycle.
• Allocate resources effectively based on strategic priorities and project objectives.

Cross-functional & Global Collaboration

• Partner with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Commercial, and external partners to ensure cohesive execution.
• Drive and develop a close relationship with all relevant stakeholders within Tiefenbacher Group globally.
• Represent the organization in interactions with regulatory agencies, clients, and industry forums.

Your Profile: What you bring to the team

• M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics), PhD, or equivalent advanced degree.
• 15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in pharmaceutical research and development
• Proven track record in managing innovative and differentiated product pipelines for global markets.
• Deep expertise in international regulatory frameworks (e.g., US FDA, EMA, CDSCO) and experience with global product registrations.
• Strong expertise in pharmaceutical product development, analytical method development, validation, and regulatory guidelines.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
• Ability to inspire and lead high-performing, cross-functional scientific teams by being curious and enabling others to challenge the status quo.
• Skilled in cross-cultural communication and experienced in the international work setting.
• Experience navigating international pharmaceutical markets, with a strong understanding of regional dynamics and regulatory expectations.
