Job Description

Key role requirements for this position:
  • **Clinical Expertise**: Demonstrate advanced skills in diagnostic imaging, including proficiency in various imaging modalities such as X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role often involves interpreting complex cases and providing high-quality patient care.
  • **Teaching and Curriculum Development**: Develop and deliver educational content for medical students, residents, and fellows. This includes designing lectures, leading seminars, and creating practical training exercises. The associate professor should also contribute to curriculum development and evaluation.
  • **Research and Scholarly Activity**: Conduct and publish original research in the field of radiology. This involves securing research funding, leading research projects, and contributing to advancements in imaging techniques, technologies, and clinical applications.
  • **Mentorship and Supervision**: Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty. Provide guidance on clinical practice, research projects, and career development.
  • **Clinical Service**: Participate in clinical duties, including interpreting imaging studies, performing procedures, and consulting with other medical professionals. This role often requires being on-call and handling a range of imaging cases.
  • **Academic Leadership and Service**: Engage in departmental and institutional service, such as participating in committees, contributing to strategic planning, and assisting with accreditation processes. This also includes supporting the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • **Professional Development**: Stay current with advancements in radiology and related fields through continuing education, attending conferences, and engaging with professional societies. This helps ensure the professor remains at the forefront of medical practice and research.
  • **Interdisciplinary Collaboration**: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including clinicians from various specialties, to provide comprehensive patient care and contribute to multidisciplinary teams. This role often involves working closely with other departments to improve patient outcomes and optimize imaging practices.
