Position Overview

Shivalik College of Engineering invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor – Physics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, mentoring, and engaging in scholarly activities. The candidate is expected to deliver high-quality lectures, guide students in research, and contribute actively to the academic and administrative growth of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering undergraduate-level lectures and tutorials in Physics with a strong emphasis on conceptual clarity and practical application.
• Designing and developing course materials, laboratory experiments, and assessments in alignment with university curriculum and institutional requirements.
• Guiding and mentoring students in academic projects, internships, and research-related activities.
• Engaging in research, publishing scholarly articles in reputed journals, and contributing to the department’s academic output.
• Actively participating in departmental activities, curriculum development, academic audits, and institutional initiatives.
• Providing academic counseling and career guidance to students.
• Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to foster a multidisciplinary learning environment.
• Contributing to the accreditation process (NAAC/NBA) and ensuring compliance with academic standards.
• Performing additional academic or administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department/Principal.

Qualifications & Eligibility

• Educational Qualification:
• Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Physics with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized university.
• NET/SET qualification preferred as per UGC norms.
• Ph.D. in Physics (awarded/pursuing) will be given preference.
• Experience:
• Candidates with prior teaching and/or research experience in a reputed institution will be preferred.
• Freshers with excellent academic records may also be considered.
• Skillset:
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
• Proficiency in using modern teaching tools, ICT, and e-learning platforms.
• Research orientation with ability to publish in indexed journals.
