Assistant Professor of Aviation

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor of Aviation, based in the Mohali district. The responsibilities of the Assistant Professor include delivering high-quality classroom instruction, designing course materials, and conducting practical training sessions in aviation. The role also involves mentoring students, contributing to academic research in the field of aviation, and participating in departmental activities. Collaboration with colleagues for curriculum development and ensuring the success of students in both theoretical and practical aspects of aviation will be a key focus.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures and practical training in aviation-related subjects such as Aviation Management, Aircraft Operations, Air Navigation, Airport Management, and Aviation Safety.
• Mentor and guide students in academic projects, internships, and career development.
• Conduct research, publish papers in reputed journals, and contribute to conferences and seminars.
• Participate in academic administration, examinations, accreditation processes, and curriculum planning.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance the practical exposure and industry readiness of students.
• Contribute to departmental and university-level academic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Robust subject knowledge in aviation and related fields
• Proven ability in teaching, curriculum development, and academic mentorship
• Research capabilities and experience publishing in relevant academic or industry journals
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for teaching and the capacity to engage and inspire students
• Familiarity with the latest developments and technologies in the aviation industry
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Aviation, Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
• Prior teaching experience at the university level is highly desirable
