Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Academic Duties

  • Deliver theoretical and practical lectures in Operation Theatre Technology and Anesthesia Technology
  • Teach subjects such as:
  • Operation Theatre Techniques
  • Anesthesia Equipment & Monitoring
  • Surgical Procedures & Instruments
  • Patient Preparation & Positioning
  • Sterilization & Infection Control
  • Emergency & Critical Care Support
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools
  • Conduct internal assessments, practical exams, and evaluations
  • Mentor and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students

2. Clinical & Practical Training

  • Supervise students during clinical postings in operation theatres and ICUs
  • Demonstrate anesthesia assistance, OT protocols, and patient safety measures
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, ethical standards, and infection control guidelines
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff during clinical training

3. Research & Academic Development

  • Engage in research activities related to OT & Anesthesia Technology
  • Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, CME programs, and faculty development programs
  • Guide students in research projects and dissertations (if applicable)

4. Administrative & Institutional Responsibilities

  • Participate in curriculum development and syllabus revision
  • Assist in academic planning, accreditation, and quality assurance activities
  • Maintain student academic records and clinical logs
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees
  • Support institutional activities such as admissions, examinations, and audits

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in:
  • Operation Theatre Technology / Anesthesia Technology / Anesthesia & OT Technology
  • Allied Health Sciences (relevant specialization)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in OT & Anesthesia Technology
  • Minimum teaching/clinical experience as per UGC / State Health University / Regulatory Body norms

  • Strong knowledge of operation theatre protocols and anesthesia techniques
  • Effective teaching and communication skills
  • Clinical supervision and mentoring ability
  • Research aptitude and academic writing skills
  • Familiarity with modern anesthesia equipment and OT technology
