Position: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor

Department: Fine Arts – Chitkara Design School

Role: PhD Supervisor (Arts & Design)

Key Responsibilities:-

PhD Supervision

• Guide and mentor PhD scholars in Arts & Design through all stages of research—proposal, coursework, data collection, publications, and thesis submission.
• Ensure timely completion and high-quality doctoral research output.

Research & Publications

• Undertake quality research in Fine Arts and Design with a focus on publishing in Scopus / UGC-Care / high-impact international journals.
• Collaborate with faculty and students to produce research articles, books, exhibitions, and creative outputs.
• Research Projects & Grants
• Initiate, lead, and participate in research projects funded by government departments and external agencies.
• Develop proposals for research grants, manage projects, and deliver impactful outcomes.

Teaching & Coursework

• Conduct PhD-level coursework classes (Research Methodology, Advanced Research Methods, Research Ethics, etc.).
• Teach and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students (BFA/MFA) with research-led pedagogy.

Academic Leadership

• Contribute to curriculum design, research seminars, workshops, and departmental development.
• Support student placements, exhibitions, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Scholarly Engagement
• Present research at national and international conferences.
• Build academic and industry linkages to strengthen the department’s research profile.

Qualification & Experience

• Educational Qualification:
• PhD in Fine Arts / Arts & Design (mandatory).
• Experience:
• Assistant Professor: 2 - 6 years of teaching/research/industry experience post-PhD.
• Associate Professor: 8 - 10 years of teaching/research/industry experience with a proven record of PhD supervision.
• Research Profile:
• Strong track record of quality research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience in handling funded research projects (Govt/Private).
• Evidence of guiding or co-guiding research scholars preferred.
