1. Nursing Administration & Staff Management
- Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing activities across hospital units.
- Prepare and manage duty rosters, leave schedules, and manpower allocation to ensure adequate staffing.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and discipline; recommend actions for non-compliance.
- Assist in recruitment, orientation, appraisal, and counseling of nursing staff.
- Maintain and update personnel records as per hospital and regulatory requirements.
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to NABH standards for nursing documentation, clinical procedures, and patient safety.
- Conduct regular audits of nursing care documentation, infection control practices, and safety protocols.
- Facilitate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on audit findings and incident reports.
- Participate actively in NABH accreditation processes, mock drills, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality among nursing teams.
3. Patient Care & Clinical Governance
- Supervise and monitor clinical nursing care to ensure it meets prescribed standards and protocols.
- Oversee nursing assessment, care planning, medication administration, and handover processes.
- Investigate and address patient complaints and feedback related to nursing care promptly.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols including aseptic techniques.
- Promote ethical nursing practice and patient confidentiality.
4. Training & Professional Development
- Assess training needs and coordinate ongoing education programs including NABH-related training.
- Organize skill enhancement workshops, in-service training, and competency assessments.
- Mentor and guide junior nursing staff and nursing students during clinical postings.
- Keep nursing staff updated on latest nursing practices, hospital policies, and regulatory changes.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams for smooth patient care coordination.
- Facilitate communication between nursing staff and hospital administration.
- Participate in hospital committees such as Infection Control Committee, Quality Improvement Committee, and Patient Safety Committee.
- Ensure effective reporting of clinical incidents, near misses, and adverse events as per hospital protocol.
6. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete nursing documentation in patient records.
- Supervise maintenance of shift reports, handover sheets, and nursing registers.
- Oversee documentation related to incident reports, audits, and quality improvement activities.
7. Resource Management
- Assist in managing nursing supplies, equipment, and consumables to ensure availability and proper use.
- Monitor safe handling and disposal of biomedical waste in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with the logistics and maintenance department for upkeep of nursing infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Sc Nursing preferred
- Minimum 8 years of clinical nursing experience, including 6+ years in supervisory/administrative roles
- Sound knowledge of NABH standards and hospital accreditation processes
- Proficiency in nursing management and quality assurance
