Assistant Manager - SCM

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute production plans aligned with sales forecasts and capacity constraints
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Sales, Quality) to ensure material readiness
• Monitor and adjust schedules to meet delivery timelines and minimize downtime
• Ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and delivery standards
• Maintain vendor performance metrics and develop alternate sourcing strategies
• Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials
• Conducting inventory & perpetual audits, required actions are initiated to ensure stock accuracy.
• Implement and monitor inventory control systems (FIFO, JIT, etc.)
• Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies
• Optimize warehouse layout and material handling for operational efficiency
• Developing the team as per the functional skill requirement such as SAP, Kaizen, 5S & productivity.
• Conversant with MIS & SAP to schedule production plan.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Qualification: BE Mechanical
• Experience: 6-10 years

• Proven experience in manufacturing supply chain functions
• Strong negotiation, analytical and leadership skills
• Knowledge of lean practices and supply chain optimization tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs and cost control strategies
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and process documentation
