Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager (Civil Design)

As an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager in Civil Design based in Chennai, your main area of expertise will be in the design of Civil Buildings and Steel Structures, with a preference for experience in the field of Solar Power Plants. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with specific experience in solar projects. With 4-10 years of experience in civil engineering design, especially focusing on solar projects and structural analysis, your responsibilities will include developing detailed structural designs for module mounting systems, such as foundations, support structures, and connections. You will utilize engineering software like AutoCAD and STAAD Pro to perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure stability and safety. Your role will involve executing engineering activities for civil and structural aspects covering various components of a Solar Power Plant, including control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads, drainage, outdoor steel structures, and related works. Additionally, you will review Vendor engineering documents related to Civil and Structural design and prepare Bar Bending Schedule, Material take-off, and estimation of Bill of Materials. In terms of material selection, you will be responsible for choosing appropriate materials for mounting structures based on load-bearing capacity, weather resistance, and cost-effectiveness. Compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations, including both Indian and international standards, will be crucial. You will conduct site assessments to determine the suitability of locations for solar panel installations and assess ground conditions. Collaboration with other engineers (electrical, mechanical) and project managers will be essential to ensure the smooth integration of mounting structures into the overall solar project. Your proficiency in software like AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and other design software, along with a solid understanding of structural principles including load calculations, material properties, and foundation design, will be key to success in this role. Excellent communication and teamwork skills will enable effective collaboration with other team members, contributing to the successful design and installation of mounting structures while estimating associated material and labor costs.,
