Assistant Library Cum Admin

As an Assistant Library Cum Admin, your role will involve a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the library. Your key responsibilities will include: - Circulation: Checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, and managing fines. - Shelving and Organization: Sorting and re-shelving books and other materials, maintaining library stacks. - Patron Assistance: Helping patrons locate materials, answering questions, and providing basic research assistance. - Cataloguing and Processing: Assisting with the cataloguing of new materials, labelling, and preparing them for circulation. - Administrative Tasks: Answering phones, responding to inquiries, and handling basic computer troubleshooting. - Maintaining Library Environment: Ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming atmosphere. - Promoting Library Programs: Assisting with the promotion of library events and programs. - Inventory Management: Assisting with the maintenance and organization of library collections. - Interlibrary Loans: Assisting with the process of borrowing materials from other libraries. - Special Projects: Assisting with various special projects and tasks as assigned. To excel in this role, you should have: - Experience using computers and working with electronic databases. - Familiarity with information management systems. - Strong organizational skills. - Good communication abilities. - Ability to multitask. - A patient and friendly personality. - A Master's degree in library science.
