1. Assumes full management responsibility for all departmental services and activities including compliance with safety regulations and investigation.
2. Manages the development and implementation of HSE management system manual & departmental goals, objectives, policies and priorities.
3. Plans, directs and coordinates, through subordinate level staff, the System Safety Department's work plan; assigns projects and programmatic areas of responsibility; reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; meets with key staff to identify and resolve problems.
4. Assesses and monitors workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs and implements changes.
5. Manages accident investigations; ensures proper accident investigation procedures are followed; reviews and approves accident reports.
6. Supervision & Coordination with sites & Site safety personnel regarding implementation of safety at project sites.
7. Monitor all site safety activities & coordinate with Clients, Project In charges.
8. Advice and coordinate with line management in preparing HSE Risk Assessment for new activities.
9. Advice & coordinate for implementation of Work Permit Systems at work site.
10. Assess the HSE staff requirements at project sites.
11. Impart training for staff; Conduct Induction training to new employees in HO before deployed at site.
12. Coordinate on purchase and quality control of PPEs / safety gadgets.
13. Analyses incident trends & facilitate necessary corrective & preventive actions at all projects.
14. Collate the monthly HSE statistics from project sites.
15. Accountable for the compliance of all applicable legal requirements related to HSE at project.
16. Review and monitor HSE performance of every project. Communicate to all staff and workmen through Circulars, Incident Case studies
17. Solve the HSE issues raised by interested parties through respective Project Managers and communicate to the concerned interested party.
18. Communicate HSE requirements through Subcontractor HSE Code of Practice.
19. Ensuring compliance to statutory requirements, wherever applicable.
