Assistant General Manager (AGM)

As an Assistant General Manager (AGM) Design Engineer specializing in Transmission & Distribution Line projects in the Engineering/Design department, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the design and engineering activities. Your primary responsibility will involve ensuring the accurate, cost-effective, and timely development of detailed engineering drawings and models using tools like AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D. You will lead a design team in preparing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for Transmission & Distribution line projects, generate fabrication drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and part lists using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. It will be essential to review client technical specifications, validate structural designs of transmission towers, poles, and related hardware, and collaborate with project, procurement, and construction teams to facilitate a smooth design-to-execution transition. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing designs to reduce material usage, conducting design validation through stress analysis, and ensuring proper archiving and updating of design documents as per change control processes. Additionally, mentoring and guiding junior engineers in technical and procedural aspects of design will be a part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should be proficient in AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D, possess a strong understanding of mechanical design principles relevant to transmission and distribution lines, and have in-depth knowledge of T&D line components. Familiarity with relevant standards in power transmission design, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong project coordination and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure while handling multiple projects simultaneously are key skills and competencies expected from you. The preferred candidate profile includes a Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution, along with 8-10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design within Transmission & Distribution Line projects. Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to guide a design team will be advantageous. This is a full-time, permanent position with a CTC of 8-10 LPA.
