Assistant General Manager (AGM) Accounts and Taxation

Role Overview

The AGM Accounts and Taxation is responsible for leading the accounting, taxation, and financial compliance functions of the organization, with a specific focus on the manufacturing industry . This role requires in-depth knowledge of IND AS, accounting, direct and indirect taxation, audit handling, and financial reporting. The position demands leadership capability, financial acumen, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure financial discipline and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements as per statutory requirements and Manufacturing Industry.
• Manage books of accounts, general ledger, and consolidation processes.

2. Direct & Indirect Taxation

• Supervise all tax-related activities including GST, TDS, Advance Tax, Income Tax returns, tax audits & Transfer Pricing.
• Coordinate tax planning, assessments, litigation support, and liaise with tax consultants.

3. Audit & Compliance

• Lead internal and statutory audits for corporate and entities.
• Ensure compliance with financial laws, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Address audit findings, statutory notices, and regulatory communications.

4. MIS & Financial Analysis

• Prepare and analyse monthly MIS reports, cash flow statements, and budget variances.
• Support senior leadership with financial insights for strategic planning.

5. Team & Stakeholder Management

• Guide and supervise a team of accountants and finance executives.
• Coordinate with commercial , procurement, and Exm teams for smooth financial operations.
• Maintain strong working relationships with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong command over Ind AS, GST, TDS, Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing .
• Proficiency in SAP and IND AS.
• Skilled in MIS reporting, and tax computation tools.
• Advanced Excel and working knowledge of MS Office suite.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:

  Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA).

• Experience:

  Minimum

  5-8 years

  of relevant experience in

  accounts, taxation, and compliance
