JOB PROFILE AND CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS

Job Summary

An Architectural Metal Detailer is responsible for creating precise and accurate shop drawings, fabrication plans, and installation details for various architectural metalwork projects. This role requires a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and architectural design principles. The detailer works closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure the final product meets design intent, quality standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Create Detailed Drawings

  : Produce comprehensive and clear shop drawings for fabrication, which include dimensions, material specifications, and finishes.

• Interpret Project Documents

  : Analyze and interpret architectural drawings, structural engineering plans, and project specifications to create accurate and buildable details.

• Collaborate and Coordinate:

  Work with architects and engineers to resolve design conflicts, clarify details, and ensure all drawings are approved before fabrication begins.

• Generate Material Lists:

  Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and cut lists to assist with material procurement and cost estimation.

• Maintain Standards:

  Ensure all detailing work adheres to industry standards, building codes, and company quality control procedures.

• Problem-Solving:

  Identify potential fabrication or installation challenges and develop practical solutions to ensure a smooth workflow.

• Manage Revisions:

  Document and manage all drawing revisions and RFIs (Requests for Information) to maintain a complete project record.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education:

  A degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering, or a diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field

• Experience:

  Proven experience (2 + years) in architectural detailing or structural steel detailing.

• Software Proficiency:

  Expertise in software like Rhino /AutoCAD / SolidWorks/ Revit

• Communication:

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with various project stakeholders.

• Attention to Detail:

  Exceptional precision and a meticulous approach to work, ensuring the highest level of accuracy in all drawings.
