Architect/ interior designer/ civil engineer who loves detail

Bichli Haveli Project x MLIME is looking to add a Project Architect, Product & Interior Designer to its team in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

The project employs a research-minded, detail-oriented, material-based approach to conservation and adaptive re-use. Above all, we are playful, joyful, curious and committed, and don’t maintain hard boundaries between studio, office and site. Expect to be on your feet, working in close coordination with skilled masons and undertake rigourous prototyping and testing of specifications, centered on stone, lime and lots more.

Currently the project is focused on interior fit outs- a lot of the heavy civil work and structural work is completed. Electricals, lime plasters & lime surfaces, toilets, built-in furniture is the focus.

Education

B.Arch or B.Design or similar

Experience

Minimum 4years

Job Location

Udaipur, Rajasthan

Term

Full time position, Monday to Saturday 9-6 + an a commitment of 18months following the trial period

Skills

Sketching and basics of CAD & sketch up

Salary

Based on experience and skills

The role and scope of work can be modified/ limited/ expanded/ evolved to fit the candidates interests and experiences.

Scope of work:

Work in close coordination with the construction site

Innovating fabrication, specifications and SOP for every process ranging from building and installing electrical switch boards, stone joinery to lime concretes!

Working with external vendors

Brainstorming spatial/ interior concepts

Converting concept sketches into fabrication drawings, going back and forth between site/ feasibility and the design drawings, and supervising accurate execution
