Apprentice Chef

Role Overview

The Chef Intern assists the kitchen team in daily food preparation, hygiene maintenance, and production support. This role is designed for students or beginners who want hands-on learning in professional kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation

• Assist chefs in cutting, chopping, peeling, marinating ingredients
• Follow recipe standards and portion sizes
• Maintain mise en place for each service section
• Support in preparing sauces, stocks, salads, sandwiches, and basic dishes

Kitchen Operations

• Learn and follow kitchen workflow, cooking methods, hygiene and safety
• Assist in receiving, checking, and storing raw materials
• Label and date food containers (FIFO method)
• Ensure the workstation is clean, sanitized, and stocked

Cooking Assistance

• Support Commis and CDP during rush hours
• Handle basic cooking tasks under supervision
• Plate dishes according to restaurant standards
• Prepare garnishes and assist with live stations when needed

Hygiene & Safety

• Maintain personal cleanliness as per FSSAI guidelines
• Clean utensils, chopping boards, equipment after use
• Follow proper waste segregation
• Ensure safe handling of knives, hot pans & machines

Learning & Development

• Participate in food trials, menu training & daily briefing
• Learn food costing, wastage control & inventory basics
• Follow instructions and maintain discipline in the kitchen

Qualifications

• Hotel Management student / culinary student (preferred)
• Passion for cooking & willingness to learn
• Basic knowledge of food ingredients

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
