Summary:As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as a software detective, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of applications that are vital to business functions. You will engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide timely solutions, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Roles & Responsibilities:Provide day-to-day support for Azure-based IaaS and PaaS workloads, including VMs, virtual networks, load balancers, App Services, Azure SQL, Storage accounts, Azure Functions, and more.Monitor and maintain cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other native tools.Manage patching, backup, and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and other relevant tools.Support automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Azure ARM/Bicep templates, PowerShell, or Terraform.Manage Windows server related issues like High CPU/Mem Usage, Low Disk Space, BSOD, Frequent reboot etc.Implement and support security policies, RBAC, NSGs, firewalls, and encryption as per compliance guidelines.Manage Azure policies, blueprints, and governance controls.Conduct regular audits and ensure infrastructure adheres to compliance and security standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR).Monitor and optimize performance of IaaS and PaaS services.Track and manage cost using Azure Cost Management & Billing tools.Recommend right-sizing or refactoring options to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.Work closely with application teams, developers, and other infrastructure teams to support deployments and troubleshoot issues. Skills:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field.3+ years of hands-on experience managing Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.Strong understanding of networking concepts (VNETs, NSG, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute).Solid experience with Azure Active Directory, IAM/RBAC, and security best practices.Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI) and infrastructure as code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform).Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git integration.Microsoft Certified:Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect.Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + Azure).Familiarity with containerized services (AKS, ACR) and serverless technologies.Exposure to ITIL processes and tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
