SummaryAs an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and solves issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring the reliability and performance of applications, and proactively monitoring system health to prevent potential disruptions. You will engage in continuous improvement efforts, analyzing system performance metrics and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of business operations and delivering exceptional service to stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities: Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks/roles for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment. Automate patching, configuration drift detection, and remediation processes. Manage inventory and secrets securely across environments. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Jenkins. Automate build, test, and deployment workflows for infrastructure and applications. Integrate security scanning, quality checks, and approval gates into pipelines (DevSecOps). Implement and manage Rundeck for job scheduling, self-service automation, and operational task automation. Create standardized workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency. Integrate Rundeck with monitoring and alerting tools for proactive remediation. Identify and automate recovery procedures for common failure scenarios. Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to build resilient systems with automated failover and scaling. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews. Work closely with development, operations, and cloud teams to align automation goals with business needs. Maintain detailed documentation for automation tools, procedures, and playbooks. Champion infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and GitOps best practices. Professional & Technical Skills:
5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Automation roles. Strong hands-on experience with:o Ansible (playbooks, roles, modules, inventory management)o Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, artifacts)o Jenkins (pipeline as code, plugins, integration)o Rundeck (job orchestration, plugin development, ACL configuration) Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management. Experience with scripting languagesPython, Shell, or PowerShell. Working knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure. Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.) and incident management workflows. Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates. Exposure to GitOps frameworks (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux). Certifications such as Microsoft CertifiedAzure DevOps Engineer Expert, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible, etc. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for automation and reliability. Willingness to participate in on-call rotations or support escalations when required.
Additional Information: The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering.This position is based at our Bengaluru office.A 15 years full time education is required.
