Summary:The Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and support of VMware vSphere environments, including vSAN, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), vRealize Operations (vROps), and Metro Clustering. Additionally, the role includes the management of Windows Servers, hybrid cloud infrastructure on Azure, AWS, and GCP, and related services like SCCM, WSUS, DFS, Print Servers, Radius/NPS, DHCP, Antivirus Solutions (Symantec/McAfee), Microsoft Failover Clustering, Windows Network Load Balancing (NLB), FTP and SFTP, vulnerability remediation, and server hardening.Key Responsibilities:1.VMware vSphere Management with vSAN, HCI, Metro Cluster:oDesign, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter), focusing on advanced configurations including vSAN, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), and Metro Clustering for high availability and disaster recovery.oImplement and optimize vSAN for software-defined storage solutions, ensuring efficient storage utilization, performance, and data replication.oManage HCI solutions like Nutanix or VxRail integrated with VMware for a streamlined, high-performance virtualized infrastructure.oMonitor and manage vSphere clusters, resource pools, and advanced features such as vMotion, DRS, HA, FT, and Storage DRS.2.vRealize Operations (vROps) for Monitoring and Optimization:oDeploy, configure, and manage vRealize Operations (vROps) for proactive monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity planning across VMware environments.oCreate and manage custom dashboards, alerts, and reports in vROps to monitor the health and performance of vSphere, vSAN, and HCI environments.oIdentify potential issues, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities through vROps analytics, ensuring smooth operation of virtualized infrastructure.3.Windows Server Management:oAdminister and maintain Windows Server (2022, 2019, 2016, 2012) environments both on-premises and in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).oConfigure and manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, File/Print Services, and Failover Clustering.oImplement high availability using Microsoft Failover Clustering and Network Load Balancing (NLB) for critical services.4.Cloud Platform Management (Azure, AWS, GCP):oManage Windows Server instances in Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient operation.oUtilize cloud-native tools for automation, monitoring, and patch management such as Azure Automation, AWS Systems Manager, and GCP Operations Suite.oImplement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies using Azure Backup, AWS Backup, and other cloud-specific tools.5.SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) & WSUS:oManage SCCM for software deployment, patch management, OS imaging, and compliance reporting across hybrid environments.oAdminister Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) for centralized patch management and automated update deployment to Windows Servers and workstations.6.Distributed File System (DFS) & Print Services:oConfigure and manage DFS Namespaces (DFS-N) and DFS Replication (DFS-R) for highly available and distributed file sharing solutions.oMaintain and optimize Print Servers, ensuring secure and reliable access to network printers.7.Radius/NPS (Network Policy Server):oDeploy and maintain Radius/NPS for secure wireless network access, VPN authentication, and centralized network policy management.oTroubleshoot and optimize Radius/NPS configurations, ensuring seamless authentication services.8.DHCP Management:oAdminister and maintain DHCP services, including dynamic IP address allocation, lease management, and failover configurations to ensure network reliability.oAddress IP conflicts and optimize DHCP performance across on-premises and cloud environments.9.Antivirus Solutions (Symantec/McAfee):oDeploy, manage, and monitor enterprise antivirus solutions such as Symantec Endpoint Protection and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).oEnsure antivirus solutions are up to date, monitor for threats, and implement security policies to mitigate risks.10.FTP and SFTP Management:oConfigure and manage secure FTP and SFTP servers for file transfers within the organization and with external partners.oEnsure encrypted transfers, manage user access, and resolve connectivity issues.11.Vulnerability Remediation and Server Hardening:oPerform vulnerability assessments using tools like Qualys, Nessus, or Microsoft Defender to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.oImplement server hardening techniques such as applying security baselines, disabling unnecessary services, and securing administrative accounts across Windows Servers, VMware environments, and cloud instances.12.Security and Compliance:oEnsure compliance with security standards and best practices, applying patches and updates promptly, and performing regular security audits.oImplement and monitor Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and identity management policies to ensure secure access across all platforms.13.Automation and Scripting:oDevelop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, or Google Cloud SDK to streamline system administration, server provisioning, and patch management tasks.oAutomate server hardening, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.14.Documentation and Collaboration:oDocument procedures, configurations, runbooks, and incident resolution steps to ensure consistent and reliable operations.oCollaborate with network, security, and cloud architecture teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions that meet business needs.Skills and oExtensive experience managing VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) with expertise in vSAN, HCI solutions (e.g., Nutanix, VxRail), and Metro Clustering.oStrong expertise in Windows Server management (2022, 2019, 2016, 2012) both on-premises and in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).oHands-on experience with SCCM for software deployment, patch management, and endpoint protection.oProficiency in managing WSUS for patching and compliance reporting.oAdvanced knowledge of server hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security standards across Windows Servers and cloud environments.oProficiency in managing vRealize Operations (vROps) for monitoring, analytics, and performance optimization.oExperience with DFS, Print Servers, NPS, DHCP, Antivirus Solutions (Symantec/McAfee), FTP/SFTP, and Failover Clustering.Preferred
Skills:

oExperience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) to manage hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.oFamiliarity with Zero Trust architecture and cloud-native security solutions in Azure, AWS, and GCP.oKnowledge of disaster recovery and backup strategies for hybrid cloud environments using tools like Azure Site Recovery, AWS Backup, etc.Experience Level:o4+ years of experience managing VMware vSphere, vSAN, and HCI solutions.o2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) managing Windows Server workloads and infrastructure.oProven track record in vulnerability remediation and server hardening across hybrid cloud environments.Education and Certification:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Relevant certifications such as:oVMware Certified Professional (VCP) Data Center Virtualization (DCV).oMicrosoft Certified:Azure Administrator Associate.oSecurity+, CISSP, or other relevant security certifications are a plus.
