Application Infrastructure Engineer (Architect)

Role Overview: As the Infrastructure Architect at Sandoz, your primary responsibility will be to act as the main point of contact for Application and Infrastructure teams regarding infrastructure architecture activities. This includes designing, upgrading, implementing changes, and ensuring optimal performance. Additionally, you will support application assessment and classification to align with business requirements, translate non-functional requirements into infrastructure designs, and perform infrastructure sizing to meet performance and growth needs. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining both high-level and low-level Infrastructure Architecture Design documents, reviewing and approving design changes, supporting application migration and upgrade strategies, and assisting in troubleshooting high-priority incidents. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the primary point of contact for Application and Infrastructure teams for infrastructure architecture activities - Support application assessment and classification to ensure alignment with business requirements - Translate non-functional requirements into infrastructure component designs - Perform infrastructure sizing to meet performance, capacity, and growth needs - Develop and maintain As-Is and To-Be Infrastructure Architecture Design documents - Review, validate, and approve infrastructure design changes - Support application migration and upgrade strategies - Assist in triaging and troubleshooting high-priority incidents Qualifications Required: - University degree in Computer Science or a comparable field - 12+ years of overall experience in IT Infrastructure (Public Cloud / On-Prem) - 10+ years of experience in private cloud hosting technologies (e.g., VMware, Nutanix, CommVault, NetApp, F5) - Expertise in defining deployment patterns for Operating Systems and Databases - Experience designing infrastructure for data protection and resiliency (HA/DR) - Knowledge of network services (switching, routing, load balancing, firewalls, DNS, etc.) - Familiarity with security services (IAM, SIEM, SOC, VA/PT, etc.) - Hands-on experience in hybrid and multi-cloud environments Additional Company Details: Sandoz, a leader in the Generic and Biosimilar medicines sector, provided over 900 million patient treatments across 100+ countries in 2024.
