Description
Role Purpose Getronics is underway with building a Center of Excellence for Low-Code/No-Code Application Development Capability across a set of technologies including Microsoft Power Platform, OutSystems, Mendix and Servicenow. The role of the Applications Engineer is a key enabler to developing strong capabilities in building Composable, rapid applications using these platforms. The role will require building Proof of Concepts during Presales phase and then designing and delivering customer-facing projects.We are looking for an people with software development experience and a hunger to acquire skills in multiple Low-code technologies, champion best practices, and strategically support the evolution of our technology landscape. You will be working with a team of Application Engineers and delivering solutions to our customersacross the globe. You will ensure solution designs are aligned to our customers strategy, target architecture and standards, bringing in Thought Leadership and providing architecture inputs to the onsite teams. You will also help support the strategic technology direction including identifying and assessing technologies to ensure they are fit for purpose with a focus on Power Platform to start with. You will be responsible for prioritising and matching your skills to the pipeline of work in a rapidly evolving environment. Primary Responsibilities -A strong development background with especially in Power Platform-Self-learning and a desire to acquire new skills-Working in collaboration with project sponsors and key stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the pipeline of projects, their technical design, estimates, and outcomes-Designing, implementing, and delivering Low-code applications and services.-Working with Architects to establish reference architectures and best practices to ensure standardization of the software development lifecycle.-Helping ensure realistic and accurate estimates of costs, timescales, quality, and resource requirements Skills -Experience in designing and developing software applications-Developing user-friendly, data-rich applications using a low code platform-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform-Strong experience in deploying good engineering practices including continuous delivery, clean code, documentation, programming, automated testing and code reviews-Working in Agile Development/DevOps teams-Good understanding of DevOps background including Git, Branching strategy, pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, Test plan-Experience of designing and creating relational/non-relational databases and fluent with writing SQL scripts-Understanding of microservices architectures and solutions, containerization-Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders-Ability to build effective working relationships to enable technical discussions with product owners to articulate design solutions or reconfirm requirements-Experience of working with different project methodologies (APMQ, Prince 2, PMP, Agile) Certifications Nice to have Certification in a Low Code PlatformCertification in a leading programming language such as Python or Java Soft Skills Customer FocusedProactive AttitudeProblem SolvingGood Communication Verbal & WrittenTeam playerTake initiative
