Position Overview Seeking an application development advisor to join the The Doctor automation platform team in Evernorth. This team's focus is delivering high-quality web applications adhering to enterprise development best practices. This is a highly collaborative team that owns and supports some of the most critical processes in Cignas automation and reporting spaces. As a Software Engineering Lead Analyst, you will be a part of a small fast-paced team of analysts and engineers, developing and deploying internal facing web applications using the technologies listed below. You are expected to work closely with developers, technical project managers, principal engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that application solutions meet or exceed business/customer requirements. Responsibilities Candidates will need to have experience with medium-to-large-scale web development Ability to develop within full technology stack (HTML + JavaScript + NodeJS + PostgreSQL) Ability to prioritize, solve, implement, test, and deliver high visibility bugs and features to web applications Rearchitect/Decouple our web applications for bundling to new types of infrastructure environments Be part of and contribute to a fast-moving team, working with the latest tools and open-source technologies Design and develop our next generation of RESTful APIs and Event driven services in a VMWare environment Work on a development team using agile methodologies Qualifications Required Experience & Education: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Engineering or related course work 8 to 11 years of work experience in application engineering / software development Strong Experience with Front-end Development including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Strong Experience with backend technologies including NodeJS, ExpressJS, npm, JavaScript Strong Experience working in database environments like SQLite, Postgres, SQLServer, Oracle, or MySQL Experience in Git based source control tools like GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment along with tools like Github Projects, Jira, Rally, etc. Strong understanding of JavaScript event loop, concurrency and async/await concepts Solid understanding of OOP, Design Patterns, Data Structures and Web Standards Experience with developing RESTful web services Experience with Linux, Scripting, and Bash Desired Experience: Healthcare domain knowledge Knowledge of API tools like Postman, SoapUI, etc. Experience in testing methodologies, software testing principles and test management tools Experience with Application Monitoring Tools (Splunk, Cloudwatch, Dynatrace etc) Experience with Continuous Integration / Deployments (Jenkins / Github Actions) Experience with enterprise security Including Auth0/Okta, Encryption, and Firewalls Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid analytical skills, highly organized, self-motivated and a quick learner Flexible and willing to accept change in priorities as necessary
