Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement
API proxies
on
Apigee X
.
Configure
API products, developers, and apps
in the Apigee platform.
Implement
policies
for security (OAuth, JWT, API key verification), traffic management, mediation, and transformation.
Integrate Apigee X with
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
services like Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Endpoints.
Design and implement
API Gateway architecture
ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
Work closely with backend teams to expose microservices through APIs.
Manage
API versioning, documentation
, and lifecycle through developer portals.
Implement
CI/CD pipelines
for API deployments using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build.
Monitor and troubleshoot API performance, latency, and errors using
Apigee Analytics
and
Cloud Logging
.
Ensure adherence to
best practices for API governance, security, and compliance
.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5–10 years
of hands-on experience with
Apigee (Edge or X)
.
Strong knowledge of
RESTful API design principles
and
Open API/Swagger specifications
.
Experience in
JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or Java
for custom policy development.
Expertise in
OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and other API authentication mechanisms
.
Familiarity with
GCP services
, including IAM, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
Experience with
CI/CD
,
Git
, and
DevOps pipelines
.
Strong understanding of
API security, scalability, and monitoring
.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
