Apigee Developer

As an Apigee Developer at Persistent Ltd., you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing APIs using the Apigee Edge/API Management platform. Your role will involve creating API proxies, implementing traffic management, security policies, and analytics on Apigee. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather API requirements and deliver scalable solutions. Troubleshooting and resolving performance, reliability, and security issues in APIs will also be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will work with DevOps and backend teams to enable CI/CD for API deployments and maintain clear and structured documentation for APIs and workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and manage APIs using the Apigee Edge/API Management platform - Create API proxies, traffic management, security policies, and analytics on Apigee - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather API requirements and deliver scalable solutions - Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth 2.0, API Key, and JWT - Troubleshoot and resolve performance, reliability, and security issues in APIs - Work with DevOps and backend teams to enable CI/CD for API deployments - Maintain clear and structured documentation for APIs and workflows Qualifications Required: - 4 to 10 years of overall software development experience, with at least 2+ years in Apigee API Management - Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices - Proficiency in using Apigee Edge, Apigee hybrid (added advantage), and Apigee API Gateway policies - Hands-on experience with OAuth, API Key, JSON Web Tokens (JWT), and security protocols - Experience with JavaScript, Python, or Java for backend integrations - Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines - Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure is a plus) - Good communication and collaboration skills Persistent Ltd. fosters a values-driven and people-centric work environment that enables employees to accelerate growth both professionally and personally, impact the world positively using the latest technologies, enjoy collaborative innovation with diversity and work-life wellbeing at the core, and unlock global opportunities to work and learn with the industry's best.
