Anesthetist

to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering anesthesia before, during, and after surgical procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. With a strong foundation in anesthesia gained through an MD or DNB in Anesthesia and 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience, the Anesthetist will work closely with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality perioperative care.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' medical history and conduct pre-anesthetic assessments to determine appropriate anesthetic techniques.
  • Administer general, regional, local, or monitored anesthesia care based on patient requirements and surgical procedures.
  • Monitor vital signs, manage airway and ventilation, and adjust anesthetic levels throughout the procedure to ensure patient safety.
  • Respond promptly to anesthesia-related emergencies and ensure immediate interventions in critical situations.
  • Manage pain relief during and after procedures, including prescribing postoperative analgesics.
  • Maintain accurate and complete anesthesia records, ensuring compliance with medical protocols and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to plan and execute patient care strategies.
  • Conduct postoperative rounds to assess patient recovery and manage any anesthesia-related complications.
  • Follow sterilization protocols and ensure all anesthesia equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Provide guidance to nursing and paramedical staff regarding perioperative and postoperative care related to anesthesia.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Medical degree (MBBS) with a postgraduate qualification of MD or DNB in Anesthesia from a recognized institution.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working as an Anesthetist in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in managing various types of anesthesia techniques (general, regional, local, and sedation).
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology, physiology, and anesthesia equipment.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Clear and empathetic communication skills with patients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous medical education and staying updated on advances in anesthesiology.

Preferred Attributes:

  • ACLS/BLS certification
  • Experience in critical care or pain management is an advantage
  • Exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties (general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, etc.)
