Anesthesia Technician

As an Anesthesia Technician at Santiniketan Medical College & Hospital, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of anesthesia to patients undergoing medical procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Equipment Preparation and Maintenance:** - Set up, calibrate, and test anesthesia machines, monitors, and related equipment before each surgical case. - Perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of anesthesia equipment as per hospital protocols. - Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs. - Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition. - **Clinical Support:** - Assist Anesthesiologist with patient preparation, monitoring, and IV line setup. - Anticipate needs during procedures and provide required instruments, supplies, and medications promptly. - Assist in the insertion of invasive monitoring lines under supervision. - Operate specialized equipment as directed. - **Inventory and Supply Management:** - Maintain adequate stock levels of anesthesia supplies and medications. - Order new supplies, ensure proper storage, and organize anesthesia carts. - **Safety and Compliance:** - Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards. - Maintain a clean and safe work environment. - Participate in quality assurance initiatives. **Qualifications and Skills:** - Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Anesthesia Technology or Operation Theatre Technology. - Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred. - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are a plus. - Technical Skills: Knowledge of anesthesia machines, monitoring devices, and troubleshooting. - Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, ability to work in high-pressure situations, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach.
