Android Developer Requirements Overview: The Lead Android Engineer will guide the Android development strategy and champion excellence across the mobile practice. This role focuses on hands-on delivery, mentoring, and driving adoption of modern Android technologies while playing a central role in CoE initiatives. Architect and deliver high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and modern development tools. Define and promote Android development guidelines, reusable patterns, and testing strategies. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and learning plans. Collaborate with CoE leadership to assess team skills, create learning paths, and support career growth. Engage in cross-platform alignment efforts with iOS and React Native leads. Ensure compliance with accessibility, security, and performance standards. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience. 6+ years of professional Android development experience with deep Kotlin expertise. Solid grasp of Android architecture components, Jetpack libraries, and modular development. Strong coaching skills and a passion for growing engineering talent. Experience in establishing or contributing to a Center of Excellence is highly desirable. Proficiency with CI/CD systems, dependency injection, and performance profiling tools.
