Analytics & Merchandising Executive

Location: Chembur (Head Office)

Reporting to: National Retail Operations Head

Function: Retail Analytics, Merchandising & Business Insights

Role Purpose:

The Analytics & Merchandising Executive will own data-driven merchandise planning and performance analytics across offline stores and marketplaces. This is a hands-on role, focused on ensuring the right product, right quantity, right time, and right location—while improving sell-through, reducing inventory risk, and maximizing gross margins.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Retail & Merchandising Analytics

  • Track store-wise, city-wise, and category-wise performance
  • Build dashboards for sell-through, inventory aging, GMROI, and size/color/style performance
  • Identify underperforming SKUs and recommend markdowns, transfers, or exits
  • Partner with Ops & Category teams to improve store productivity metrics (SPH, conversion, ATV)

2. Merchandise Planning & Buying Support

  • Support annual and seasonal merchandise planning (OTB, category mix, depth vs width)
  • Translate business targets into SKU-level buy quantities
  • Work closely with Product & Design teams to identify winning silhouettes, materials, and price points
  • Own store assortment planning (Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Tier 3 cities)

3. Inventory & Supply Chain Alignment

  • Monitor inventory health across stores, warehouse, and channels
  • Recommend inter-store transfers, replenishment triggers, and liquidation strategies
  • Reduce dead stock, excess cover, and stock-outs on fast movers

4. Business Intelligence & Decision Support

  • Create actionable MIS for leadership (weekly/monthly reviews)
  • Analyze impact of promotions, new store launches, VM changes, and price revisions
  • Support strategic decisions with data-backed insights

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Retail Ops, Supply Chain, Finance, and E-commerce Analytics teams
  • Act as the single source of truth for merchandising performance data

Key Metrics of Success:

  • Improved sell-through %
  • Reduced inventory aging (>120 days)
  • Increased GMROI
  • Lower stock-outs on top 20% SKUs
  • Improved forecast accuracy vs actuals

Candidate Profile:

Must-Have

  • 4–7 years of experience in retail analytics, merchandising, or planning (fashion/lifestyle preferred)
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI / Tableau / Looker preferred)
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs, inventory planning, and SKU-level analytics
  • Hands-on experience with offline retail data (mandatory)

Good-to-Have

  • Exposure to D2C or omnichannel retail
  • Experience in fast-growing consumer brands
  • SQL or basic automation skills
  • Experience with ERP / POS systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
