Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Analytical R&D Chemist to join our synthesis lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods to support the research and development of new chemical entities and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). This role requires a deep understanding of analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and method development. The Analytical R&D Chemist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical data.

Key Responsibilities:

Method Development and Validation:

  • Develop and validate robust analytical methods for the identification, quantification, and characterization of APIs, intermediates, and impurities.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing analytical methods to improve accuracy, precision, and robustness.

Instrumental Analysis:

  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, NMR, MS, FTIR, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, Moisture Analyzer, etc., and others as required.
  • Ensure instruments are calibrated and functioning properly, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

Data Analysis and Documentation:

  • Analyze experimental data and interpret results to draw accurate and meaningful conclusions.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all experiments, methods, and results in laboratory notebooks and data management systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, method validation protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with R&D chemists to support process development and optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with quality control, regulatory affairs, and other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Present findings and updates to project teams and management in a clear and concise manner.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment in the laboratory.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and advancements in analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Good Lab Practices (GLP) and other regulatory standards.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Plan and execute experimental work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MSc Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience: Fresher to 2.5 years of experience in HPLC/GC operation, instrument and wet lab
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of analytical instruments.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in using analytical software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
