Job Description

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for procuring direct materials in compliance with plant and corporate regulations. Your role will involve communicating and coordinating with network schedulers to ensure timely plan and execution updates. You will need to understand material requirements and process requisitions to provide purchase orders to suppliers. Collaborating closely with suppliers, you will ensure on-time delivery of materials to the plant. Your responsibilities will also include executing exception messages, managing internal escalations, and resolving discrepancies with both internal operations and external suppliers. Additionally, you will work with logistics partners and suppliers for material delivery based on incoterms. Evaluating and monitoring supply performance, you will implement corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and category managers to enhance on-time performance. Maintaining inventory levels in alignment with set objectives, you will work with inventory analysts and network schedulers for optimized inventory levels. Coordinating with Supplier Quality and suppliers for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) of defective parts, you will manage reverse logistics. Collaboration with Engineering, Product Managers, and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for phase-in/out (Engineering Change Notice management) will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be required to keep purchasing data updated and collaborate with Data Health and Commodity teams. Utilizing digital tools for Supply Chain Management (SCM) efficiency is essential. Sharing best materials management practices with the team, continuous process improvement, compliance with materials planning processes, and reporting in alignment with the network and global supply chain organization are key aspects of your role. Resolving Distribution Center (DC) and Plant Putaway Issues, driving purchasing metric improvements, standardizing best practices across sites, and collaborating with materials management and buying teams to update lead times and stocking levels for uninterrupted supply will be part of your daily tasks. Conducting over buy and under buy analysis to manage excess inventory effectively is also crucial. To qualify for this role, you should have a BE/Btech & MBA in Supply Chain Management, along with at least 6 years of experience in Supply Chain Management as a Buyer or Material Planner. Strong communication and decision-making skills are essential for success in this position.,
