AM/DM - Crash Development

As a Crash Test Engineer at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, your role will involve planning, conducting, and analyzing vehicle crash tests to ensure the safety of vehicles and contribute to the development of safer cars for customers. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and implementing crash test programs to evaluate vehicle safety features and systems. - Coordinating with design and development teams to integrate safety requirements into vehicle designs. - Setting up and conducting crash tests, including frontal, side, rear, and rollover tests in accordance with industry standards and regulations. - Analyzing crash test data to assess vehicle and safety component performance. - Utilizing high-speed data acquisition systems and video analysis tools to capture and analyze crash test data. - Preparing detailed crash test reports and making recommendations for design improvements. - Working with suppliers to develop and validate new safety features and equipment. - Staying up-to-date with global safety regulations and industry best practices. - Collaborating with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety standards. - Supporting the development of computational models for crash simulations. - Participating in post-crash analysis and vehicle teardowns to study the effects of crashes on vehicle structures. - Contributing to the continuous improvement of test procedures and methodologies. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience in automotive design/evaluation or a related field. - Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, crashworthiness, and occupant protection systems. - Proficiency in data analysis and crash simulation software. - Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. - Flexibility to work odd hours as some crash tests may be conducted outside of regular business hours. Preferred skills for this role include experience with high-speed cameras and data acquisition systems, familiarity with industry standards such as NCAP, FMVSS, and Euro NCAP, knowledge of vehicle repair and reconstruction following crash tests, and certification in crash test dummy instrumentation and calibration. In terms of working conditions, you can expect to work in a combination of office settings and high-energy test environments. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when on the test floor, and some travel may be necessary to attend conferences, training, or work with external testing facilities.,
