Job Description: We are seeking an experienced SCM - Procurement Manager with expertise in the Equipment and MRO Category for our Lithium Ion Gigafactory Greenfield Project. This is a technocommercial role focused on high-value Capex and Opex procurement and managing the commercial relationship with Chinese equipment vendors. You will play a critical role in scouting potential vendors, conducting negotiations, and driving price settlements to meet project timelines and cost objectives. As part of the team driving the development of one of the world's largest gigafactories, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for production equipment and related maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) services. This role requires a strategic and hands-on approach, with a keen understanding of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for complex lithium-ion manufacturing equipment, as well as the ability to challenge suppliers on commercial terms and ensure competitive pricing. In addition, you will function as the Program Manager for all supply chain-related activities for the Gigafactory setup in India. Key Responsibilities: Vendor Scouting & Evaluation: • Identify, evaluate, and engage with Chinese equipment vendors specializing in • Lithium-ion gigafactory production and related MRO services. • Establish and maintain a vendor database of qualified suppliers, ensuring quality standards and cost competitiveness. Negotiation & Price Settlement: • Lead negotiations with Chinese equipment vendors to secure competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and adherence to contractual obligations. • Drive price settlement discussions based on the BOQ and complex project requirements, ensuring best-value procurement. Techno-Commercial Expertise: • Understand and analyze the BOQ and technical specifications of lithium-ion gigafactory production equipment to ensure procurement decisions are technically sound and cost-effective. • Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to address technical challenges and optimize procurement strategies. Program Management: • Act as the Program Manager for all supply chain topics related to the Gigafactory setup, ensuring that project timelines, cost constraints, and quality expectations are met. • Monitor and report on procurement milestones, including delivery schedules,supplier performance, and any potential risks or delays. • Actively participate in internal management updates, providing regular reports on the status of procurement activities and mitigating any risks to the overall project timeline. Capex and Opex Management: • Ensure that all procurement activities are aligned with the overall Capex and Opex budget for the Gigafactory project. • Collaborate with finance and other departments to forecast and manage capital and operational expenditures effectively. Contract Management & Compliance: • Oversee the creation and management of contracts, ensuring that they align with both the legal framework and business objectives. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards throughout the procurement lifecycle. Stakeholder Management: • Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineering teams, suppliers, and logistics partners. • Ensure clear communication and alignment on procurement objectives, priorities,and challenges
