AM-Strategic Sourcing (Should Costing)

Role Overview: As a Cost Estimator, your main responsibility will be to collect and analyze information to estimate costs associated with sourcing products or components while following efficient manufacturing and distribution practices. You will need to consider factors such as labor rates, materials, overhead, and profit margin to provide accurate cost estimates. Key Responsibilities: - Communicate effectively and maintain relationships both internally and externally. - Possess a strong technical mindset to interpret technical data and convey it to others. - Utilize strong numerical skills to research, manage, and manipulate numerical information. - Demonstrate analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in cost estimations. - Apply knowledge of machine hour rates and manufacturing processes to select cost-effective methods. - Compile specifications and engage with stakeholders to translate them into cost estimates. - Establish cost estimates for production processes and tooling costs, while exploring cost reduction opportunities. - Analyze cost breakdowns from vendors and perform gap analysis between Zero Base Costing and quotes. - Recommend cost-effective solutions during the design and development process. - Prepare and share cost standards and reports with others in the business. - Benchmark costing methods with competitors and industry standards. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 5 years of work experience in Cost Engineering or Cost Estimating. - Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/ Automotive/ Industrial preferred). - Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel and PowerPoint. - Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes including Casting, Forging, Stamping, Machining, Electroplating, Powder Coating, and Assembly operations.
